Producer Profile
These wines really are “The Dog’s”. A cracking red and white pair from the North Catalan region (as we like to call it), but more usually described as Roussillon, deep in southern France.
Viticulture
From the Catalunya Nord, otherwise know as the Roussillon, this distincively French white wine is crafted from Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, both of which are native to the region. The soils are rich in clay and silt.
Winemaking
A traditional white wine fermentation after direct pressing and racking in stainless steel without carbonic maceration.
Oak Treatment
No oak treatment.
Tasting Note
Slightly floral on the nose with a hint of minerality and pastry. Honeysuckle, peaches and herbs shine through from the Rousanne supported by lovely texture, depth and weight from the Grenache Blanc. A salivating mouth, which is slightly saline and with juicy pear notes.
Food Matching
This stands up well to rich paté, creamy sauces and white meats.
