I can not understand why people don’t know about this wine. Frappato is so unique. A light red with almost no tannins, yet it has more flavour than most of the red wines I have ever tried. An instant hit with anyone who tries this for the first time. I still don’t understand how a wine can be this light but have such a huge set of balls. If you want something new, this is without doubt the one for you.

Producer Profile

Baglio Gibellina is situated in picturesque Sicily where its vineyards are surrounded by the hills of Salemi and Santa Ninfa. Old vineyards located between 300-600m above sea level are grown on a mixture of clay and volcanic soils with limited yields allowing for the production of outstanding wines with incredible food matching potential.

Viticulture

Planted on sandy soils at approximately 200 – 250 metres above sea level. Grapes are harvested at the peak of phenolic and aromatic maturity.

Winemaking

Traditional red wine maceration in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

Tasting Note

Ruby red colour lined with a purple tinge. The bouquet has a pleasant fresh fruit fragrance. Fresh red fruits and a fresh lively and soft palate.
