Les Vignobles Foncalieu looked for a fresh and floral grape variety which could be enhanced by Languedoc terroirs, they chose Albariño. Originally from Galicia, it has made a new home in our Puichéric vineyard where oceanic and Mediterranean influences meet, allowing it to express its full richness.
Deep soils situated between the Canal du Midi and Étang de Marseillette in order to preserve the grapes’ freshness. Mediterranean climate with oceanic influences. Rows oriented east to west to protect the bunches from the sun. Yield: 60 hl/ha.
Work in a moderate reductive atmosphere to preserve the freshness of the aromas. Pneumatic pressing. A six-day contact with the lees from the must. Cold settling. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats with temperature control.
4 months in stainless steel vats.
Complex bouquet of white fruit with honey and coconut notes. Generous fruity flavours on the palate with good balance and freshness. Try with seared prawns, a grilled sole or a veal blanquette. Serve chilled at 10°C.
